The Community Impact Fund contains unrestricted funds not designated to a specific nonprofit. These funds are granted to community organizations by the Community Impact and Community Council committees, with the approval of the United Way of San Joaquin County Board of Directors. Community Impact funds are distributed through a competitive grant process, that is open to any qualifying 501(c)(3) organization. Proposals, applications and documentation from nonprofits requesting $5,000 or $10,000 are reviewed by community volunteers who make funding recommendations. These funds are used to target health, education, and income needs in the community and are based on the outcomes/results that can be achieved to benefit the people of our communities.
