Andy Prokop – President/CEO

Andy Prokop

A California native, Andy Prokop became President/CEO of United Way of San Joaquin County in March of 1999.

Prior to joining United Way of San Joaquin County, Andy spent three years in the US Army as a Crew Chief on helicopters.  After serving his country, Andy spent thirty years in the fast food restaurant business.  For six of those years, Andy was the Franchisee of the four Carl’s Jr. restaurants in Stockton.  During his time with Carl’s Jr. Andy was involved with numerous nonprofit agencies and supported their many community events.  Andy also served as the Executive Director of the Child Abuse Prevention Council before joining United Way.

As a volunteer, Andy has served on numerous nonprofit boards and committees.  For his time spent with the Blue Ribbon Committee, Andy was the recipient of the 2004 Evening of Goodwill “Helping Hands” award.  He currently serves on the Wells Fargo Foundation of Northern California and the Mary Graham Children’s Shelter Foundation, to which he was a founding member.

Andy has been married to his childhood friend and now best friend, Carol, for 46 years.  Together Andy and Carol have two children, daughter Jamie and son Mike. In addition, they have three grandchildren, ages 18, 7 and 3.  A true sports enthusiast, Andy enjoys supporting the University of the Pacific, Stockton Ports, Stockton Heat and Delta College.

Donna Ng – Director of Operations

Donna Ng

Donna is a native Stocktonian and graduate of Edison High School.  She also attended San Joaquin Delta College.  Donna began her career with United Way as a summer youth participant and later became a full time employee.  Donna has been with United Way for over 40 years.  Donna is described by Andy Prokop as the mortar between our bricks” since she holds everything together.

Donna is a proud member of Crossroads Church in Manteca.  Donna enjoys collecting Mickey and Minnie Mouse memorabilia and collectibles.

Angie McKinney – Community Impact Consultant

Angie McKinney

Angie was born and raised in Reno, Nevada.  She is a graduate of the University of Nevada.  Angie has been involved with United Way for 50 years.  She started with United Way as their Public Relations Director and prior then became the Vice President of Community Impact.  She retired, a few years ago but couldn’t stay away and came back as a consultant.  Angie works with the Community Impact teams, the Emergency Food and Shelter Board and United Way Board and committees.

Angie has one son and two granddaughters, ages 17 and 23.  She and her husband Ken have been married 17 years.  Ken has two daughters and four grandchildren.  Angie and Ken are active in First Baptist Church.  They enjoy time with family, getting together with friends for dinner and plays, gardening, walking nature trails and traveling.

Linette Alvarado – Assistant to the Operations Director

Linette Alvarado

Linette Alvarado started working at United Way in January 2016 but has been a member of the United Way family since 2011.  Linette previously worked for General Mills, and served as the General Mills Loaned Executive for their 2011-2012 United Way Workplace Campaign.  Linette also served as a volunteer at Never Cry Wolf Rescue in Sacramento for 10 years.  She has a big passion for animals.  Linette is married to her husband Tony and they have two sons.  Her oldest, Jeremy, is a Sargent in the Army and her youngest son, Antonio, is a great personal trainer at In-Shape.  Linette’s passion in life has always been to help out where she can and she always says “I will never ask you to do something that I would not do myself.”

Amy Ferrell – Campaign Associate

Amy was born and raised in Carlsbad, California. She graduated in 2009 with a degree in sport management from University of the Pacific and interned for University of the Pacific’s Athletic Director, Ted Leland, and in the Stanford Compliance department. She also completed her master’s in sport management at Pacific in 2013. She was an assistant coach for women’s basketball at Pacific from 2010-2017.

Amy and her husband, Jordan, were married in 2015. They have one son, Russell, who was born in March, 2017.
