VITA VOLUNTEER ROLES

INTAKE SPECIALIST

The Intake Specialist plays a key role in ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for clients participating in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. This position is responsible for greeting clients, reviewing intake forms, verifying necessary documentation, and assisting with the initial client intake process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong communication skills, and is committed to providing excellent customer service. This role is essential in supporting VITA’s mission to offer free, high-quality tax preparation assistance to underserved communities.

TAX PREPARER

The Tax Preparer in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program is responsible for preparing and filing tax returns for eligible individuals and families. This role involves conducting thorough client interviews, ensuring accurate completion of tax forms, and adhering to IRS guidelines. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, basic knowledge of tax laws, and a commitment to helping underserved communities. As a VITA Tax Preparer, you'll play a crucial part in providing free, high-quality tax assistance to those who need it most. Training and certification are provided.

This includes community members living in poverty, living with disabilities, who speak English as a second language, or don't have transportation.
